Plaintiff corporation, East Vollentine Courts, Inc., the owner of an apartment building located at 1022 North Watkins Street in Memphis, Tennessee, brought suit against the defendant, Read Sales Company, for damages from fire allegedly caused to plaintiff’s building as a result of welding negligently done on the premises by the defendant’s employee, Timothy Cox. It was admitted that the amount of fire damage was $14,000.00.
