The appellant filed an application in the United States Patent .Office for a patent on an improvement in a process for inhibiting gum-formation in cracked petroleum motor-fuel distillates and the product thereof. Two claims were allowed and seven, numbers 1, 2, 3, 7, 8, 9, and 17 rejected by the examiner, and, on appeal, the decision was affirmed by the Board of' Appeals. Claims 1, 2, 3, and *8588 are thought to be typical of the rejected, claims, and are here-, quoted:
