Appellants, Claude Brouillard and Mei-wa Cheng Brouillard (hereinafter the “Brouillards”), entered into a loan agreement with FirstBank Puerto Rico for a mortgage. After the Brouillards defaulted on the loan, FirstBank filed an action for foreclosure, followed by a motion for summary judgment. The Brouillards filed an answer and counterclaims, alleging that FirstBank engaged in negligent and intentional misrepresentation and breach of contract.
