POSNER, Circuit Judge.

In 2009 the defendant was sentenced to 24 months in prison, to be followed by 3 years of supervised release, for being a felon in possession of a gun. After being released from prison in 2011, he violated the terms of his supervised release by failing to submit to random drug tests, to attend substance-abuse treatment sessions, and to report to his probation officer. The district judge sentenced the defendant to five months in prison for these violations, and to an additional 30 months of supervised release.
