Exceptants complain they should not be surcharged for failure to invest the sum of $500, balance of principal, they permitted to remain on deposit in a savings account from August 10, 1927, until the bank closed about six years later. They aver that the deposit was regarded by them not as an investment but as a reserve to protect the other investments totaling $5,500.

The principal account reflects the liquidation of a mortgage of $6,000 on August 5, 1927, the deposit thereof in the savings account five days later — but no *543reinvestment of any part of it until September 13, 1929,…
