This is a child custody case.
S.C.S. (father) and S.W.S. (mother) are the parents of J.N.W. (child), who was bom in November 1992. The mother and. the father eventually married in April 1993. It is undisputed, however, that the father is the biological father of the child.
In February 1994 the father filed a complaint for divorce, seeking" custody of the child. Thereafter, the mother filed an answer and a counterclaim, seeking custody of the child. We would note that in April 1994 the mother took the child to New York and voluntarily relinquished custody of the…
