The facts which led to the present controversy, so far as it is necessary to recapitulate them, are substantially as follow : , J that in August, 1836, the Second Municipality entered into an agreement w¡th the Messrs Frerets and others, the owners of certain cotton presses and the ground on which they were erected, within the limits of that corporation, that they (the proprietors) wmuld sell to the municipality that property, which it is not necessary particularly to describe, on condition that the whole should be divided into lots and sold by the municipality on a long credit, payable in…
