The defendant, Richard Keyworth,1 appeals a judgment in favor of the plaintiff, The Merit Corporation. For the following reasons, we affirm.

FACTS/PROCEDURAL HISTORY

On November 29,1991, the defendant executed a promissory note in favor of the First National Bank of Jefferson Parish (“First National”) in the amount of $65,000, plus interest at an adjustable rate. The note was *1290payable on demand or, if no demand was made, on February 27, 1992, in one payment of all outstanding principal plus all accrued unpaid interest.
