Mickey Lee Bates rammed his Ford pickup truck, into the porch of his neighbor’s apartment, .pinning.-his neighbor, Tommy Whitlock, between the truck and the detritus of the destroyed porch. As a result, of this .conduct, Bates was charged with aggravated . assault with a deadly weapon. A jury convicted Bates of the charge, and he was sentenced to ten years’ confinement.
