The matter for disposition is a motion by plaintiff to add pre-judgment interest at the statutory rate in the amount of $684,250 to the verdict in its favor of $1,700,000 by the jury so that the total verdict would be $2,384,240. The time period for the interest would be from January 15, 1981, when plaintiff informed defendant that it intended to seek damages until the date of the verdict on October 1, 1987.
