Omyri Emerson appeals the trial court’s denial of his motion for new trial after a jury found him guilty of aggravated assault, unlawful possession of a firearm, obstruction of an officer and carrying a concealed weapon. We affirm for the reasons set forth below.

Viewed in the light most favorable to the verdict, 2 the evidence showed that in the early morning hours of January 3, 2009, Emerson told his three co-defendants that he “wanted to go out and look for somebody to rob” because he was mad that he had lost money gambling.
