Plaintiff is an Illinois corporation engaged in the manufacture of varnish of various brands, and for various purposes; its principal place of business being at Chicago. Defendant is a domestic corporation, engaged, since 1873, in the manufacture of furniture, principally church pews, with its plant at Northville. It is the claim of defendant that in the summer of 1909 one Charles A. Peters, a salesman of the plaintiff, after several visits to and conversations with Robert C.
