We granted certiorari to consider the decision of the Court of Appeals in People v. Massey, (No. 77-1029, announced July 24, 1980) affirming the defendant Wesley Massey’s convictions in Fremont County District Court of escape under section 18-8-208(2), C.R.S.1973 (1978 Repl. Vol. 8) and three counts of habitual criminal under section 16-13-101(2), C.R.S.1973 (1978 Repl.
