Introduction

Appellant Givaudan Fragrances Corporation creates and produces flavor and fragrance compounds for foods and beverages, household goods, personal care products and — most relevant to this appeal — fine fragrances and perfumes. Gi-vaudan sued a former employee, Appellee James Krivda, and his new employer, Ap-pellee Mane USA, Inc., claiming Krivda stole more than six hundred fragrance formulas before leaving its employ.
