Appeal from a judgment of the County Court of Essex County (Halloran, J.), rendered December 16, 2003, upon a verdict convicting defendant of the crimes of illegal possession of a vehicle identification number (four counts), forgery of a vehicle identification number (three counts) and offering a false instrument for filing in the first degree (three counts).
