This is an action of trover brought by the plaintiff against the defendants, as husband and wife, for the alleged conversion of a lot of household goods.
The plaintiff was engaged in the restaurant business in *228the city of East Saginaw. On May 30, 1887, he and his wife, Louisa Iler, executed and delivered to Henry Turner, of East Saginaw, a chattel, mortgage covering their household goods, kitchen utensils, filter, refrigerator, a sewing-machine, and wearing apparel, to secure the payment of 830 in 30 days, with interest at 8 per cent.
