In July 2001, plaintiff, Robert W. Hutton, filed an action against defendants, Consolidated Grain and Barge Company, a corporation, and Consolidated Grain and Barge Company at Naples, a corporation, seeking relief under the federal Jones Act (46 U.S.C. app. § 688 (2000)). Defendants filed a jury demand, plaintiff moved to strike it, and the trial court granted the motion.
