| following a jury trial, the defendant, Donnie R. Baker, Jr., was convicted of aggravated kidnapping and carjacking for violations of La. R.S. 14:44 and 14:64.2, respectively. The trial court imposed a life sentence without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence for the aggravated kidnapping conviction, and it imposed a 20-year sentence at hard labor without benefit of probation, parole, or suspension of sentence for the carjacking conviction.
