OPINION

SAM NUCHIA, Justice.

A jury convicted appellant, Steven Sanchez, of possession of a controlled substance, and the trial court assessed punishment at 180 days in prison, probated for 18 months, and a $750 fine. See Tex. Health & Safety Code AnN. § 481.118(a) (Vernon 2003).
