This appeal by a mother from a judgment determining that two of her children 1 are in need of care and protection and committing them to the custody of the Department of Social Services (Department) presents the following evidentiary questions: (1) Did the trial judge err in accepting in evidence, after the adjudicatory hearings were over, the report of an investigator appointed pursuant to G.
