Defendant, Tafford Holman, was convicted in the circuit court of Will County of felony murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 9 — 1(a)(3)), intentional murder (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 9 — 1(a)(1)), armed violence (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 33A — 2) and home invasion (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1979, ch. 38, par. 12 — 11(a)(1)). Defendant was sentenced to death for the felony murder conviction, to 60 years’ imprisonment for the intentional murder conviction, and to 40 years’ imprisonment for the armed violence and home invasion convictions.
