Appeal by the defendant from a judgment of the Supreme Court, Suffolk County (Mclnerney, J.), rendered May 22, 1984, convicting him of criminal sale of a controlled substance in the second degree, upon his plea of guilty, and imposing sentence.

Ordered that the judgment is affirmed.

The defendant claims that he could not have knowingly and voluntarily pleaded guilty to the charges against him because his limited knowledge of English prevented him from understanding the nature of the proceedings against him.
