Appeal from a judgment and from an order denying defendant’s motion for judgment notwithstanding the verdict or for a new trial.

This is an action for death by wrongful act brought by Claudia K. Majerus, as tmstee for the next of kin of her deceased husband, Emil Majerus. Plaintiff claims that the decedent received fatal injuries while descending a basement stairway which she alleges was negligently maintained by the landlord, defendant, Tillie M. Guelsow.
