In this medical malpractice case, we determine whether an optometrist may generate an expert report concerning an ophthalmologist’s alleged departure from accepted standards of medical care. Be*770cause an ophthalmologist is a physician and an optometrist is not, and only a physician is qualified to author an expert report regarding whether a physician departed from accepted standards of medical care, we affirm the trial court’s dismissal of this lawsuit.
