Richard Wallace (“Wallace”) died on July 15, 1995; the cause of his death was listed as ventricular arrhythmia, acute myocardial infarction and cardiomyopathy, and the manner of his death was listed as “natural.” On March 4, 1998, in an unrelated child abuse investigation, Lois M. Williams (“Defendant”) set in motion the investigation of Wallace’s death as a homicide. The body of Wallace was exhumed, an autopsy was completed and Defendant was charged with murder. The jury found Defendant guilty of second degree murder, § 565.021.1(1) and she was sentenced to…
