On December 15, 1899, appellant, John D. Hooker, filed his bill in this case in the superior court of Cook county • against the appellees, except the American Sheet Steel Company and the United States Steel Corporation, who were subsequently brought in as defendants, praying that the appellee Ross J. Beatty, or the persons whom he represented, should be required to pay appellant the difference between the amount received by appellant for stock of the Midland Steel Company and the true value thereof, or that appellant might be given the option to be re-instated as a stockholder.
