This is an appeal in an action for damages arising out of an automobile accident. The jury returned a verdict for the defendant and the plaintiff has appealed.

*24The accident happened on August 25, 1973, at about 5:30 p.m. The weather was clear and the road was dry. The plaintiff was returning to Omaha, Nebraska, after fishing in a backwater along the west bank of the Missouri River in Washington County, Nebraska.
