On the morning of April 6, 1979, a fierce gust of wind ripped from its moorings the parking attendant’s booth at the North Quincy station of the Massachusetts Bay Transportation Authority (MBTA). Marie Croall, the attendant on duty, had the misfortune to be in the booth when it blew over. She suffered permanent injuries to her neck, legs, and back.
