The writ is intended to review two ordinances passed by the Hackensack Improvement Commission, and certain resolutions passed thereunder, resulting in the appointment of William Ziegler, as chief of the fire department, as against the prosecutor, who was an unsuccessful candidate for the position.
The insistence of the prosecutor is that while he failed to obtain the appointment, another competitor, one Livoek, was entitled to receive the same, and upon that theory the prosecutor sued out this writ as. a taxpayer. The defendant was…
