Referee. The individual parties to this action are teachers and writers on the game of bridge. “ Bridge Publications, Inc.,” and “ The Bridge World, Inc.,” are publishers.

About 1919 Culbertson began to study contract bridge. His emphasis was on methods of play known then or later as “ approach forcing,” which, due largely to Culbertson’s own efforts and encouragement, have become known also as the Culbertson system.
