OPINION

WISEMAN, District Judge.

Joseph Elfelt and Joan Elfelt (collectively “the Elfelts”), plaintiffs-appellants, filed a quiet title action against Roy Palmer, Vicki Palmer, and the United States of America, defendants-appellees, in the U.S. District Court for the Eastern District of Michigan. After the suit was resolved in their favor, the Elfelts filed an application for fees and other expenses under the Equal Access to Justice Act (“EAJA”), a motion for excess costs and sanctions under 28 U.S.C. § 1927 and the court’s inherent authority, and a motion for Rule 11 sanctions.
