Edward K. English filed his motion for judgment in the court below, claiming that he had been damaged in the amount of $21,119.66 as the result of fraud and deceit perpetrated by Paul A. Angel in connection with a sale of a retail business. The defendant filed a counterclaim for damages in the amount of $20,000 by reason of the alleged detention by plaintiff of certain personal property belonging to Angel.
