Rosario *188Sorbello, plaintiff, brought an action in divorce against his wife, Charmian Sorbello, on June 18, 1980, which was amended by stipulation of counsel on September 10, 1980. In her answer and counterclaim, the wife did not contest the divorce, but raised the issues of: distribution of marital property, alimony, and counsel fees. Pursuant to section 304 of the Divorce Code of April 2, 1980, P.L. 63, sec. 101, 23 P.S. §304, (hereinafter Divorce Code), Richard W.
