December 5, 1936, Anna L. Johnson (formerly Anna L. Slack) recovered judgment upon three promissory notes, in the superior court for Chelan county, against H. B. Courtney and Marjorie D. Courtney, his wife, and Claude E. Stewart and Christa A. Stewart, his wife, for the sum of $915, together with attorney’s fees and costs. The defendants were joint and several makers of the promissory notes, which were merged in the judgment, which was entered against them jointly and severally, and against the respective marital communities.
