Plaintiffs-appellants Deborah J. Anetsber-ger, Margaret H. Lepine, and Joseph A. Ryan appeal the district court’s entry of summary judgment against them on all counts of their complaint against defendant-appellee Metropolitan Life Insurance Company (“Metropolitan”).

I. BACKGROUND
