Plaintiff, at the time of the trial, was a man of the age of fifty years, and for many years had been connected with the organization of the New York World newspaper, in charge of its financial advertising department. In such work plaintiff had obtained an acquaintance with many investment houses and banking institutions on Wall street and elsewhere in the city of New York.
