This is a custody case that involves the application of the Uniform Child Custody Jurisdiction Act (hereinafter the Uniform Act). On November 8, 1982, the trial court granted appellee, Philip Biggers, a default judgment, awarding him a divorce and the custody of the parties’ two children, ages four and seven. Later the appellant, Karen Biggers, a Missouri domiciliary, appeared specially in the divorce action, challenging the trial court’s jurisdiction and requesting it to reconsider and to vacate its default judgment.
