Appellant Bevins and one Roland Keith Gillette were charged in Count II * of an information with robbing Thomas Wood of $4,418 on August 30, 1957. It was allleged that the defendants were armed with a deadly weapon. It was further alleged that Bevins had suffered four prior convictions, for each of which he had served time in a penitentiary. A jury found Bevins guilty of armed robbery in the first degree. On motion of the People, the first alleged prior conviction was stricken. Appellant admitted the other three priors.
