Ronald Markowski organized a smuggling ring to import drugs from South America via the Bahamas. Forty-one participants were indicted in Indiana. Most of the cases have been concluded. See United States v. Markowski, 772 F.2d 358 (7th Cir.1985), cert. denied, — U.S. -, 106 S.Ct. 1202, 89 L.Ed.2d 316 (1986); United States v.
