In this case, the sheriff after having sold the real estate of the defendant, consisting of a parcel of ground and eighteen *306unfinished houses, under a writ of venditioni exponas, issued at the suit of the plaintiff, brought the money arising therefrom, at the return of the writ into court. Upon this being done, an application was made, to have the money distributed among the creditors, whose claims were liens upon the property at the time of the sale, according to their respective dates of priority.
