This action was brought to recover upon a promissory note, dated August 9, 1939, and payable on or before three years after date, in the sum of $400, executed and delivered by defendants and made payable to Louise Hewitt, the wife of plaintiff. Prior to the commencement of the action the note was transferred by Louise Hewitt to plaintiff, who had full knowledge of all the circumstances under which the note was executed.
