The instant attorney disciplinary matter arises from two counts of formal charges instituted against respondent, Louis “Thad” Toups,1 by the Office of Disciplinary Counsel (“ODC”).

FACTS AND PROCEDURAL HISTORY

Respondent has been an Assistant District Attorney in Lafourche Parish since 1982. He is also permitted to maintain a private civil practice while holding his pub-lie position.
