HAYNSWORTH, Circuit Judge.

After denial of his petition for a writ of habeas corpus, this prisoner, confined in a state institution, undertook an appeal to this Court without a certificate of probable cause. In accordance with our usual practice, we have reviewed the record and have considered the written and oral arguments of his court-appointed counsel to determine whether or not a Judge of this Court should issue the necessary certificate, and have concluded that the appeal is without merit and that the appeal should be dismissed for want of the certificate.
