Plaintiff, Richard O’Brien, brought an action in the circuit court of Saline County to recover damages for personal injuries he sustained while helping defendant, Michael Rogers, rebuild the roof on defendant’s garage. Plaintiff’s complaint contained two counts. Count I sought to impose liability on defendant under the Structural Work Act (Ill. Rev. Stat. 1987, ch. 48, par. 60 et seq.).
