This appeal is from the decision of the Patent Office Board of Appeals, affirming a rejection of claims 1-15 in appellant’s application.1 No claims have been allowed.

The Invention

The invention relates to a method of analyzing data words to determine the number of l’s they contain.2 The specification states that there are numerous needs for such analyses in computer-controlled systems, a traffic study on telephone lines being given as exemplary.
