E.F. Gamble brought suit in the civil court of Duval County against Atlantic Coast Line Railroad Company for damages for injuries alleged to have been sustained as a result of the negligent failure of the railroad company to maintain the aisleway of a passenger coach which he was entering, in a reasonably safe condition. Pleas were filed by defendant, and the parties went to trial.
