The respondent sued the appellants, the proprietor of a taxicab company and the chauffeur of its cab, for $25,000 damages for personal injuries resulting from a near collision with the /.cab. It passed so close to respondent that he involuntarily threw out his hand in which, he was holding a dinner bucket. The bucket struck a projecting hinge on the rear door of the cab and rebounded, destroying his left eye and wounding his face.
