Proceedings in the above-stated cause were instituted in the New Jersey Supreme Court, .tire venue being laid in Camden county. The defendant, a citizen of the state of Penn'sylvania, had the cause removed into this court, whereupon plaintiff filed petition to remand to the New Jersey Supreme Court, on the ground that “the matter in controversy does not exceed $3,000, exclusive of interest and costs.” There is no question about the diverse citizenship of the parties, and the sole question before the court is whether or not “the matter in controversy, exclusive of…
