Following a jury trial, the defendant, Fred Reed, was convicted of two counts of murder and one count of armed robbery. He was sentenced to concurrent prison terms of 50 to 100 years for each murder and 20 to 30 years for armed robbery.

On appeal the defendant raises the following issues: (1) whether the trial court erred in denying defendant’s motion to quash his arrest and suppress evidence or, in the alternative, whether defendant’s counsel was incompetent by presenting insufficient evidence to support that motion; (2) whether the trial court erred in refusing the compulsion instruction…
