COX, Judge:
Appellant was tried at Kaiserslautern, Federal Republic of Germany, by a general court-martial comprised of officer members. Contrary to his pleas, he was convicted of 2 specifications of premeditated murder, in violation of Article 118, Uniform Code of Military Justice, 10 USC § 918. He was sentenced to a dishonorable discharge, confinement for life, total forfeitures, and reduction to E-1. The convening *361authority approved the sentence; the Court of Military Review affirmed in a short-form opinion.
